Rule number one of eating in bed: Never do it without a proper surface upon which to rest your coffee, tea, juice, and various other breakfast-type foods! Incorporate pillows for propping you up
Breakfast in bed is only as good as the seat it’s served on! Make sure you’re comfortable, with plenty of throw pillows to prop yourself up on as you eat. There should also be enough to share with other diners, if you’re chowing down with family!
Figure out your breakfast in bed menu
Nobody wants to wait hours for breakfast! Avoid the long wait by prepping ahead of time – maybe the night before! Most pancake batters can be made ahead of time, coffee machines prepped, and breakfast trays set the night before. This will give you plenty of time to hop out of bed, flip some pancakes, and still catch the early morning sun with a hearty meal.

As much as you can, try to plan for accidents and spills; make sure you have plenty of paper towels and cloth napkins, with which you can mop up any spilled coffee or tea!
